The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has mandated removal of payment
surcharges from 1 October 2026.

What does this mean for merchants?
If you have disabled or deactivated Surcharging, there's no action required.
If you currently apply a surcharge on card payments, this will need to be removed before 1st October 2026.
How do I remove surcharging?
Your Acquirer is responsible for disabling surcharging, questions relating to how they are implementing this change should be directed to them.

As an additional precaution, we recommend disabling surcharging via the Linkly Client. Please refer to the guide below for step-by-step instructions.
Disabling Surcharging - Linkly On-Premises
1. Open the EFT-Client UI and tap on the 'Ctrl Panel' button.
2. In the EFTPOS Control Panel, click on the 'Surcharge (F8)' tab.
3. To disable Dynamic Surcharge, untick the “Enable Surcharge Box” in the Surcharge (F8) tab and hit the 'Apply' button in the bottom right of the window.
