The Linkly Client can be adjusted to print different printer configurations such as printing directly from the Pinpad terminal itself, a POS controlled printer or a dedicated Windows printer.
Please follow the steps below to configure your desired printing setting.
Print to the Pinpad Device
Some EFTPOS Pinpad machines contain an internal printer which can be used to print settlements / transaction receipts. For this to work the internal printer must have a paper roll loaded into the Pinpad device.
To enable printing through the EFTPOS Pinpad, please follow the steps below.
- Open the Linkly Client by double clicking the green 'C' in the bottom left of the windows taskbar.
- In the Printer field enter "NPT" as shown below.
- Press "Apply" to confirm the changes.
- Open the Control Panel but clicking on the button on the right side of the Client application.
- Select Print Receipt and Cut Receipt and make sure that both are ticked.
- Press "Log On" to confirm it prints from the EFTPOS machine.
Print to a POS controlled printer
From some merchant setups, the POS printer is connected to windows not as a device but as a serial connection, directly controlled by the POS application. Windows is not able to 'discover' this device and it will not appear in the Windows 'Printers and Scanners' settings.
Direct printing is a generic term that refers to any printer that is not a locally controlled windows device, where the POS is responsible for sending receipts to the printer.
When the client printer field is left blank, our software will automatically send pinpad receipts to the POS Software.
To prompt our software to send the pinpad receipt to the POS application as plaintext during the transaction event, please follow the steps below.
- Open the Linkly Client by double clicking the green 'C' in the bottom left of the windows taskbar.
- Locate the "Printer" field and remove any text present.
- Press "Apply".
- Open the Control Panel but clicking on the button on the right side of the Client application.
- Ensure the Print Receipt and Cut Receipt checkboxes are unticked.
- Press "Log On" to test changes.
Please note:
There is no option within the Linkly Client to enable or disable POS printing itself, please refer to your POS application for more details.
Any questions about printing at this stage should be referred to POS Support since the Client is sending the receipt information to the POS application to handle.

You can configure the Linkly Client to send receipts to a local Windows printer.
